On June 17, 2026, Xingdong Era unveiled the XHAND 1 PRO, a dexterous robotic hand they call "a hand that better understands the brain." The device boasts a 21-degree-of-freedom (DOF) full direct drive design, significantly improving little finger opposition precision and overall grip capability.
- Wide Range of Motion: Five fingers can spread up to 135°, with a maximum envelope grip diameter exceeding 160mm, allowing easy handling of large objects like beer mugs and basketballs.
- Rich Tactile Sensing: The hand is equipped with 18 distributed touch sensors covering fingertips, finger pads, and palm. It uses capacitive pressure sensors with a measurement range of 0.1–25N and a resolution of 0.01N. Centimeter-level non-contact pre-detection enables smooth control and optimized grip trajectories.
- High Precision: Single-joint backlash is less than ±0.25mm, and repeat positioning accuracy is ±0.1mm. Dual encoders combined with a hybrid control algorithm dynamically compensate for gear backlash and transmission gaps, improving data fidelity and model execution accuracy. Joints are back-drivable and compliant, tested for over 200,000 cycles under load.
