Anthropic's Claude Surpasses One Million Daily New Users
Anthropic's AI assistant Claude is now attracting over one million new users daily, according to company executive Mike Krieger. The surge coincides with rapid revenue growth for both Anthropic and OpenAI, though high operational costs continue to challenge profitability.
Anthropic has announced a significant milestone for its AI assistant Claude, which is now adding more than one million new users every day. The news was shared on X by Mike Krieger, former Instagram co-founder and current head of Anthropic's experimental division.
Krieger, who joined Anthropic in 2024 initially as head of product, revealed the daily user growth figure, highlighting the accelerating adoption of AI technology. Industry analysis suggests multiple factors are driving this expansion.
In the consumer market, Anthropic is perceived to have gained a moral advantage following recent controversies involving the Pentagon, positioning itself favorably against competitors like OpenAI. This perceived ethical stance appears to be resonating with users.
The broader AI industry is experiencing explosive growth. Since October 2025, annualized revenue estimates for both leading companies have skyrocketed:
- OpenAI: Increased from $13 billion to approximately $25 billion (roughly 898.28 to 1,727.46 billion RMB).
- Anthropic: Jumped from $7 billion to around $19 billion (roughly 483.69 to 1,312.87 billion RMB).
Despite these impressive revenue figures, both companies face substantial financial challenges. The enormous operational costs of running advanced AI models, along with other potential financial burdens, are significantly offsetting the gains from increased revenue. The path to sustainable profitability remains a central concern for the industry.
